Post-tensioning floor slab solutions
Post-tensioning floor slab solutions are often employed to reduce floor slab thicknesses and reinforcement and achieve significant embodied carbon reduction. We promote the use of low carbon reinforcement and post-tensioning strand materials based on 97% recycled steel, secondary EAF production with up to 100% clean/renewable energy. For tall buildings, the adoption of thinner PT floor slabs can also result in reduced loads on the foundation system, leading to further material and embodied carbon reductions.
